Party like a RockStar

This one was by far a favorite and huge hit!  The funny part is it was one of the least expensive I have thrown!  However, you need some really good friends or family to pull this off!  The thought was it was a day of rock and roll with a little girl in mind we did hot pink and black as our colors.

The first impression of the party is your invitation.  I try to keep it as fun and themed as the rest of the package so I typed up my invitation on the computer and printed on to a pink paper of choice and cut out (long and skinny).  I took them all to kinkos and had them laminated.  I then hole punched the top in the center and added a ribbon as a necklace.  Everyone loved them and wore them to the party to get in like a concert.  (We even had Papa dressed up with sunglasses on at the front door checking tickets to get in with a guest list) Tight security is needed for a 5 year old party!

As guests arrived I had many tables set up in the yard of activities so there was plenty to do.  We had the tattoo parlor (fake tattoos) with two of my great friends ready to tattoo away! Party city, dollar store and Clair’s had buckets of hundreds of tattoos I had them cut and laying out ready to go.  The table next to it was our dressing room.  I had a box full of star shaped sunglasses and a makeup hairstylist (another friend) ready to rock them out.  I had spray in hair color, gel and glitter makeup and nail polish.  (They looked amazing!).  I had a table for spin art set up with a little spin art machine for kids and paper.  This was good for the first activity as they arrived.

I had a backyard stage setup with a microphone and disco ball and other fun décor.  One at a time or groups would take turns picking a song from a list I had to perform for the friends (Birthday girl first of course).  The last table was blank cd label paper that you would put through a printer and stick on the cd.  I had markers out so each kid could decorate their own CD label.  I then put it on their own copy of the cd I used for them to sing to. (Mix of kid’s songs and popular songs to age group).  The CD cases I had ready to go with a printed paper insert with a list of songs and thank you for coming.  (This was in place of party bags).

For decorations I used hot pink fake flower and black feathers in glass bowls sprayed with glitter for center pieces. And balloons and banners everywhere.    Let me know if I can help with any other ideas for the theme.
