Fairy Garden

My 8 year old is very in to the world of make-believe play and crafts so why not combine the two!  We made fairy gardens with her girl scout troop (yes I was also a troop leader) and they turned out perfect!  This craft allows the kids to use their imagination and can entertain for many hours or a few minutes!

For these we took people shaped popsicle sticks added doll hair, ribbon for clothes, feathers as wings and leaves as a skirt. We added a face with markers.  This made our fairy.  or her home we took the base that catches water for a flower-pot (medium-sized) and decorated with moss, rocks and so on.

Another idea for fairy gardens from my 8 year olds mind is to take gathered sticks and build a fence in a spot of choice in the yard take rocks of different shapes and sizes and flowers to decorate.  Add small pot with fresh water for the fairy and any other creative ideas of your own we added a small bird house for them to live in.  This is a fun way to do it and no trip to the craft store is required.
